WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ‘NEW STYLE’ & ‘OLD STYLE’?

Every Rolex watch on our site is from the late 1980’s to present.

From 1988 until 2005, Rolex manufactured Lady’s and Men’s Datejust watches with a standard stainless steel clasp. In 2005, Rolex started manufacturing all Datejusts with a ‘Gold Thru Clasp’ which means that when the clasp is closed, the clasp is invisible (aka ‘hidden clasp’). All Datejusts manufactured from 1988 until 2005 are the Old Style models while all watches manufactured from 2005 until present, are the New Style Models.

The second difference between the 2 models is that new style models are 30% heavier than the old styles and are referred to as the ‘Heavy Band Models’  This applies to all stainless steel or steel and gold Datejust watches, men’s and lady’s.  All Presidents -- men’s and lady’s -- are same style clasps while the only difference is that in 2001, Rolex started making them 30% heavier.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

GoldWatchCo.com accepts nearly all payment methods including major credit cards via the Google Checkout option located on the site, as well as bank wire transfer. Placing your order via major credit card may take up to 48 hours to process due to the billing verification process. This is why we highly recommend using the bank wire transfer option. Payment via bank wire transfer allows us to process and ship the order on the day the wire is received. Additionally, when placing an order through bank wire transfer, we offer a 3% price drop on all purchases, due to the lack of credit card processing fees.

DO YOU BUY OR TRADE IN ON OLD ROLEX WATCHES?

YES. As you can see on our ‘Sell your Rolex’ page, we buy all used and pre-owned Rolex watches. Give us a call or send us an email with all the applicable information you have on your Rolex, and we will provide you with a very respectable price quote prior to viewing the watch.

We will also send you a pre-paid shipping label to have the watch sent into our office for inspection. Once our watchmaker has fully inspected the timepiece and fully authenticated it, you will receive a check the following day for the agreed upon price.

We also take watches in on trade for a higher value. This means: when you send us a watch to sell, we will quote you a few hundred dollars higher, if you were to trade up to another timepiece.

DO I HAVE TO PAY SALES TAX?

GoldWatchCo.com is located in the heart of Miami, Florida. When shipping a watch outside the state of Florida, we do not charge any sort of sales tax, or shipping fees. The price you see on the site is the grand total delivered to your door.

When purchasing a watch in Florida, we charge 7% sales tax. To help Florida customers with this, we offer a 4% price drop as opposed to 3%, when you pay via bank wire transfer.

DOES MY WATCH COME WITH ANY SORT OF WARRANTY?

Every watch we sell comes with a full “buckle-to-buckle” one year warranty. If anything happens to the watch, we will send you a FedEx shipping label and repair the watch free of charge with a zero deductible. If anything happens to the watch after the warranty expires, we will charge you at industry level cost price which means we will not make a profit on the service.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?

Every watch we sell comes with a full three day satisfaction guarantee. When you receive the watch, you have three business days to make sure you like the look, price, and feel of the watch.  If you are not satisfied with your watch for any reason, you may return it with no restocking fee. If the watch has been worn or altered, you may not be eligible for a full refund but instead, a small restocking fee. If the return policy has expired, you may return it with a restocking fee which is decided by the customer service manager.

DO YOU SIZE WATCHES?

GoldWatchCo.com will downsize all watches, free of charge. We do add additional links onto watches, for a small fee, depending on the style and material of the link(s). If a customer wishes to leave their watch full size, your local jeweler may size the watch for free, or for a small fee.

CAN I EXCHANGE MY WATCH, EVEN MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING?

Yes. GoldWatchCo.com has a special ‘buy back’ program which allows you to sell back, or exchange for a different watch, for the lifetime of your purchase. Call our sales or customer service department for more details on this program.
